Contemplating Vacations Then and Now
I remember going on vacation with my young ones. Packed in the back? Diapers, wipes, baby toys, floor gyms, strollers, baby food, a mixer to MAKE baby food, plenty of bibs, baby clothes, a portable playpen, highchair… need I go on?
Today I leave with my three, many years later. Packed in the back? Four guinea pigs, two guinea pig cages, two bird cages, a movie for the road, boogie boards, three skateboards, bags packed with boxers and deodorant for the teenager, a cute pink bikini (for my daughter, not me!) and yes, I hate to say this, Guitar Hero. (sigh)
Life goes on, and children grow up. Quickly. So as you hold your baby, wait for your imminent labor or wipe your toddler’s messy face – enjoy. And remember. Because life passes by quickly, and you don’t want to miss a minute of this busy, chaotic and wonderful time!
Although pregnancies are all different, there is always one common thread. We gain weight!
